Oh The Timing !!

Can you believe Josie has a cold and its 5 days till take off?!

Well maybe not a cold.. congested, blocked nose.. but no coughing, sneezing or fever.. yet.. *spit* *spit* *spit*.

Please please please say a little prayer that she gets better by Monday! Its Father's Day breakfast on Monday morning at the school and I would hate for her to miss it! ;-(

She has already missed school today, and when Tony told her she wouldn't be going to school this morning she burst into tears cause she wanted to see her 'fweiiinds'... poor bubby..

She'll most likely miss school tomorrow too.. just in case.. and the party she was going to tomorrow afternoon for Guy's 4th..

Waaa...

Bookweek Parade

Its Book Week this week at school!

Our very first bookweek parade was today and all the kids had to dress up for it. As this is my first go at it, I decided to take it easy and just went with a fairy. I don't sew, and this is the closest thing I had to a costume ;-)

I think she looked so cute ;-)

The school video taped the parade which is great. I am looking forward to the end of the year when we get a copy of the stuff they have been taping all year. Can't wait.

Anyways, here are some pics.. the girls look just gorgeous!

Josie Invents The Anti-Bath

Most children seem to believe that the purpose of the bathtub is to provide an area of relative dryness once they've distributed its contents over the rest of the bathroom, and Josie is no different. I went to Granny's place last night to bag up the wisteria vine that Ant and I had cut up on the weekend, to find Josie in the bath and Granny trying somewhat unsuccessfully to get her out of it. All Josie was interested in getting out was the water, which she was earnestly trying to scoop through the enclosure door.

As soon as I got there Granny felt I could take over child extraction duties. Lucky me. Well The Serious Voicedidn't work.

Mat: You know what I used to do with your daddy when he was in the shower?
Josie: (Looking interested but not venturing to ask)
Mat: I used to get a bucket of cold water and throw it into the shower!
Josie: Noooooo ... cold water on YOU!
Mat: Oh I think it'll go on you kiddo.
Josie: No! (thinks for a moment) We don't have a bucket!
Mat: I'll FIND a bucket Miss don't you worry! Pull that plug out!
Mat: Ok now pull it out and leave it out smarty bum! You just wait till your daddy gets here!
Mat: What are you ... stop licking the bathtub! (this of course was like a red rag to a bull)

Finally she came out, after again attempting to saturate me with the last remaining bit of water in the tub. God help me when I have my own kids.

Heeee's Too Sexy For His Hat ...

Not only did we suck quite badly in our attempts to master the fine art of golf on the weekend but Antony also reached new heights in his attempt to master the even finer art of dressing like a golfer:

Though we were embarrassing ourselves quite badly, I was surprised to find that my mutant power appears to be that I drain all nearby people of any skill they might have had before coming into range. The guy who tee'd off after us and who asked if he could play through, since we were going so slowly, then produced a tee off which could only be described as a DB (to quote Roy and H.G.) .. a dog's breakfast! So I at least felt better after that.

Celebrations!

Woohoo!

August 28th, 2006

1000th hit on the blog!

Hooray!

Another Busy Weekend..

It seems like we never stop on weekends!

On Friday we decided that Mat should come over for dinner and that he should bring the new DVD Trivial Pursuit.. unfortunately he did not have it, fortunately he did want it, so we sent Tony off to Toys R Us to get one for him. On the Toys R Us website, it clearly said that the store was open till 7pm, but when Tony got there at 630pm it was already shut! So he called me, and I called them, and abused them a bit, till they opened the store and started a register up for him. So we had our game!

We had a great time playing the game! And may I just stress.. I won!

On Saturday we spent the day going from here to there.. ending up at dinner at Baba & Deda's. That was yummy as usual, unfortunately Becka was sick, and on Sunday wound up with a 40+ degree fever and a throat infection! She is much better today but home from school.

We took the Trivial Pursuit to baba and dedas and played there, but I think baba and deda got a bit bored cause, well, they really couldnt answer very many questions.. except baba who know all the hollywood gossip ;-)

Josie had an icecream which of course ended up across her face!

I'm so glad she was sitting on daddy's lap!!

On Sunday we spent a lovely day at Michelle & Sam's place where we had breaky and lunch with Michelle and Rachel, and also the other third of their little group - Miriam, and her parents. Tony, Sam and Mat went and played golf, which according to all three of them, they really sucked at. lol.

The girls all played really well. And it was really quite nostalgic for me cause my closest little group at school was a threesome. And Ines, Harri and I are still very close.

Aside from a brief nightmare where Josie was painting.. her hands.. they all played with dolls, and dress ups and drawing, and play doh.. there is so much to do at Rachel's place!

Ewww! Look at those hands!!

Here we have Snow White, a bunny and a fairy!

And here are some random photos..

My own personal bunny!

ONE week to go!!!!!!

Breakfast and Jammies Day At School

On Tuesday Josie had a PJ's day at school where she had to wear her PJs and slippers to school.

They had a fabulous time!

I got there to drop her off and they had lined up all their little cot beds in rows in the main room and the plan was to watch a DVD and have some breakfast.

They watched Over The Hedge.

When I left, Josie and Rachel were lying side by side on their cots shining a torch on the ceiling.

However, now she keeps asking to wear her jammies to school!!

Weekend Busyness!

We had a jam packed weekend!

Firstly our close friends and god daughter were visiting from QLD which was great. Josie and Jessica had a great time together!

On Saturday we had a picnic with a big bunch of friends. Josie, Jess and Josh became known as Triple J ! It was so gorgeous watching all the kids together! Josie and Jess were so good with Josh!

Although at one point Josie had him on her lap and then let go and the poor bubby fell forward onto his face! But he got over it pretty quick and went back to being absolutely adorable!

The girls played on the playground equipment and had fun climbing trees! Josie at one stage fell off the equipment as she tried to slide down a pole, but she was ok after a short cry.

The BBQ was lovely, aside from the fact that only one half of the BBQ closest to us worked and that half was being used by a large group who frustratingly hogged the thing for over TWO HOURS! The boys stood waiting for it until they had enough and they told them off and went to find another BBQ. It was highly un-Australian of them. They may have had a large group, but to hog a BBQ for over two hours on a gorgeous sunny winter day when the park was just packed with people was rude and obnoxious.

After the picnic Uncle Mat came over and we all played 80's Name That Tune when the girls went to bed. It was so much fun, although I really suck at 80's music!

On Sunday morning we had a birthday party to go to and Billy & Sam had a family lunch to go to, so we all said our goodbyes. It was lovely seeing them again and we hope they visit more often!

So off we went to Tessa's 4th birthday which was fairy themed. They had a purple fairy (with an abundance of very adult tatoos!!) who made balloon animals and lead the kids in all sorts of games. Rachel was there of course, and Josie and she, and another friend Miriam had a lovely time together.

After the party, we had already decided to take Josie to see Curious George at Eastgardens, so I invited Michelle & Rachel along, and luckily they were already going to Easties so we decided to meet there.

At Easties we played in the indoor playground for a couple of hours and had some lunch, and then while Michelle went shopping with her Aunt and Uncle who was visiting them, Sam, Rachel, Tony, Josie and I went to see Curious George.

The girls loved the movie, and especially loved the thought of going to the movies together. They were on their best behaviour, which is more than I can say for their fathers, who threw popcorn at me!

And lastly, I had to share this photo of Josie on the way to school with just far too many Wowos! For those who dont know Wowo, Wowo is a little white dog that Josie has loved since she was a baby. Wowo was her transition toy, and luckily he is readily available in any Target/KMart/Coles for a few dollars so we have quite a few of him at various Grandmothers/Uncles/Aunts places as well as in both cars and all over the home! Every now and then they start accumulating in one place, this time being my backseat! Talk about drowning in Wowos!

TWO Weeks till take off !!!

Shabbat @ The Hills and Other Stuff

On Friday we were given the Shabbat Box at school to take home. The box has all the paraphanalia that we needed to do the Shabbat service at home. Of course, since the entire family is in the East, we decided to have it at Baba's place.

So Granny and Vika and Becka met us at Baba's place and we had a great time lighting candles and saying the bracha. And then we had a yummy dinner ;-)

Here are some more pictures.

I also managed to get some lovely photos of Josie in the car. My parents are always bugging me about getting close up shots of her. Well here you go!

And last but not least, on Sunday Rachel and her parents came over for lunch. We had a lovely meal and the girls played so well together! Here are some photos of them!

Lots of photos this update! Enjoy!
