Yesterday Ant, Mari, Josie, Philip and Jacqui came over in the early evening. Wendy and I first of all took everyone for a walk down to Mahon Pool, around to Lurline Bay and back home. It's a nice 45-minute-ish walk around the north Maroubra coastline, and we'd earlier driven by the beach and seen the huge seas that are battering the beaches at the moment.
On the way down to Mahon Pool, we passed a driveway where what can only be described as a horde of ants were tucking into a couple of worms. Josie hopped over these while eyeing them with interest, and commented a little later that "those ants were having a party back there."
When we got down to Mahon Pool I took a few photos of the waves, which were sweeping over the pool and the few loonies in it in huge foaming swells. Josie had decided by this time that she needed to pee, prompting Mari to attempt to hold her in a normal toilet-sitting pose in mid-air while Josie illustrated the true meaning of the phrase "p*ssing into the wind". I had pointed out that there were public toilets just 15m away but nobody ever listens to me. Except Josie, and her parents would probably prefer that she didn't.
The rest of the walk passed without incident, and Jacqui and Philip and I went off to hunt the wild pizza for dinner, while the others went back to the flat. Several family sized pizza's later, and Josie asleep in our spare bedroom, we resumed our game of The Dungeons Of Dorukan - a card-based D&D-like game.
Today, it's back to work. With a very rude beginning of an 8:30 am meeting. *sigh*
