Heard from Mari while watching Mat play a new FPS on his new computer:
Mari: Is that a horse?
Mat: Nooo that's a dog
Mari: Is that acid rain?
Mari: Is that a dog on a treadmill?
Mari: What's that white thing?
Mat: That's a dog
Mari: Why is it white?
Mat: Because it's a mutant dog
Mari: Why are you killing all the dogs?
Mat: Because they're MUTANT dogs!
Magic.

LOL... it's so amazing how when I read it in my mind, that I can hear Mari's inquisitive fast questioning and Mat's drawn out 'I'm related to this woman' answers *heehee* BTW, what's an FPS?
FPS == First Person Shooter
A type of video game typified by the Doom/Quake series from id software.
This one is called STALKER and is set in post-accident Chernobyl. Although the bare minimum of what you need to hear from characters in the game has been translated to English, there is still a lot of speech in the game in Russian. Particularly some stuff in the final area that is something communicating telepathically - and scared the pants off me when I suddenly started hearing this voice come out of the speakers when there's nothing on my screen for it to come from.
So one day Ant and Mari were over, I asked Mari to translate. Ant has been trying to get the actual Russian phrases out of Mari ever since, with little success.
